2012`s Summer Fayre took on a bigger event then normal and takes place over two days.
Friday Night - 29th June 2012
A Barn Dance for up to 250 People, started
at 7pm on the Lower field of of Battle Rec, in a enclosed Marquee. Music by The Howlers. A Licensed bar and hot refreshments where be available.
Saturday Morning - 30th June 2012
From 11.15am there was a Summer Carnival on the Recreation Ground. All local youth organisations, schools, clubs and associations, churches, pubs
and anyone else who wish to enter a float, free of charge, were welcome. Theme was the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Saturday - 30th June 2012
12 noon to 5pm there was the Summer Fayre, featuring craft and local produce stalls, many under a large marquee, as well as trade and general stalls outside.
Children`s entertainment, a Tug-of-war competition, Arena Displays and hot & Cold refreshments were also there. In the afternoon, a Licensed bar and Musical
entertainment was provided. Entry was free but donations were welcome and free off-road parking was available on the upper field. Sponsored by
There was also the Dog Show. Registration was open from 11.30am and judging was at 12.30pm.
Saturday Night - 30th June 2012
A Dance and Disco for up to 250 people started at 7pm
on the lower field of the Rec in an Enclosed marquee, the 1066 Rockitmen, with musician `Blair` guest staring, was headlining with Dory the Wise and U-Genix
as support bands. Local DJ Matt James, continued the music between bands. Licensed bar and Hot refreshments was be available.
The Event was very well supported with a total of over £10,000 raised. Below are some Photos from the event.
